SPRING IS IN THE AIR

We are now in the final few weeks of Winter in the UK, and it has certainly been a "Winter of discontent", as the consequences of police budget cuts and the impact that they will have on forensic services become apparent.

Friends and colleagues have already been informed that their positions are at risk, or have opted to leave or take retirement.  For most of us, we still have weeks and months of uncertainty ahead.

But what about those that are left?  Are they expected to do more?  Will corners need to be cut?  Will work suffer?

Hopefully, this will be an era of collaboration, innovation and unity; as the profession explores new processes and new (affordable) technology that can meet the challenges of providing a service to an already stretched criminal justice system.

Best wishes to you all,

Richard Case

Vote Results

We asked members towards the end of last year to vote on a number of significant changes to the structure of The Society.  The results of this poll has been published in our January journal and have also been posted on the website.

In short, none of the proposals were passed, so we will continue to operate as we are, and offer the same high quality of service to our members.
