LONDON 2010
The Fingerprint Society Annual Conference
University College London, 9th-11th April 2010

The University College London is providing the venue for the Fingerprint Society Conference 2010 which will feature a combination of lectures, workshop and panel discussions to help delegates understand and explore the challenges, barriers and benefits both in the UK and USA in the forensic science arena.

Headline speakers include Chief Constable of British Transport Police – Andy Trotter, Andy Rennison, Forensic Regulator, Eric Sahota, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Dept, Dr Melanie Bailey, University of Surrey, Michael Barrow, Houston TX City Police Dept, Peter Peveridge, University of Teesside, Dr Nigel Allinson, University of Sheffield and Lauren Martin, Philadelphia City Forensic Unit. As well as guest speakers there will be a number of workshops during the weekend covering a range of subjects for example, the identification of aged finger marks, wireless technology and additional techniques for the enhancement of blood marks. The UCL will be hosting an exhibition of fingerprint memorabilia and a separate series of lectures will be open to members of the public throughout the weekend. The format is a slight departure from previous conferences but promises to be interesting, enjoyable and informative and considering the cost of some of the one day conferences on offer represent excellent value for money.

The conference is aimed at fingerprint officers, scenes of crime officers, fingerprint chemical development technicians, academia and others working within the forensic arena.
